Ariel Colonomos

Ariel Colonomos is CNRS Research Professor at Sciences Po and senior researcher at CERI. He holds master degrees in economics and finance (Dauphine University), philosophy (University of Nanterre) and a Phd in political science (Sciences Po).
His books include Selling the Future: the Perils of Predicting Global Politics (Hurst-Oxford University Press, 2016, recipient of the Ethics Section Book Award at the International Studies Association, 2017), The Gamble of War (Palgrave, 2013) and Moralizing International Relations – Called to Account (Palgrave, 2008).

His research focuses on international norms, political theory and international relations and the ethics of war.

He has been a regular visiting scholar at Columbia University with the IInstitute of War and Peace and has taught at Columbia in the pol sci master program as well as at SIPA.
At Sciences Po, he teaches classes in the political science master program at the doctoral school, in international relations (IR theories) and in political theory (the political philosophy of international relations). At PSIA, he teaches a class on the “Ethics of War”.

Ariel Colonomos supervises Phds in the areas of international norms, international normative theory and the rules of war.
